Freshpet Campus Transformation
THE CHALLENGE
Freshpet’s new headquarters offered plenty of potential but also presented a few challenges. Located alongside a major highway, the property needed more privacy, visual softness, and comfortable outdoor space for employees. The goal was to design and build a landscape that supported well-being and reflected Freshpet’s pet-friendly culture. “The timeline was a bit ambitious,” explained our owner, Brian. “We were actually hired for that reason.”
OUR APPROACH
We partnered with Freshpet to design a landscape that enhanced visual appeal and created inviting outdoor spaces for employees.
Strategic Screening Design: Developed a planting plan that softened the highway view and created a natural sense of enclosure.
Layered Plantings: Incorporated varying textures and heights for depth, color, and year-round visual interest.
Outdoor Employee Spaces: Installed multiple patios for breaks, outdoor meetings, and company gatherings.
Pet-Friendly Amenities: Designed a synthetic turf dog area with a custom water feature, a playful nod to Freshpet’s mission.
Durability & Drainage: Selected materials and layouts that can handle high foot traffic, easy cleaning, and seasonal changes.
Maintenance Integration: Introduced our account manager during construction so the maintenance team could learn the irrigation layout and site details firsthand.
THE RESULTS
Once an exposed property beside a highway, the Freshpet campus now feels unified and complete. Dense plantings at the front create privacy and visual calm, while the back transforms into a functional outdoor area with patios, turf, and a custom water feature. Our ongoing maintenance partnership keeps every space performing at its best.
